About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful man who not only provides for us, but loves me through his actions every day. He can figure out how to fix almost anything and if he doesn’t know how, he will read, research and educate himself until it is done (he is pretty awesome). He is a fantastic Dad and my very own in-house computer tec. He was also willing to move all the way from Alaska (where both of our family’s live) to Alabama (yes, there was a little culture shock) so that I could have my dream job. Being a stay at home mom to our 3 kids. I can’t help but be incredibly thankful for having a husband who was willing to give up all of the extras so that I can stay home. What can I say, I am incredibly blessed!

I am a mother to 3 amazing kids. I believe that you get out of your kids what you put in to them. They are little sponges, and if you don’t really like your own children it is probably your own fault. Fortunately, I am crazy about mine. Even if you catch me on a day when they are driving me up the wall, I wouldn’t trade this job for anything. God gave us these exact children and I am determined to soak it in and enjoy the time they are still here. I know they will be grown way too soon, and I am sure that the time between now and then is going to FLY by. That is kind of why I love photography so much, you get to relive moments when you see a good picture. I want to remember everything about this life I have because it is truly amazing in how ordinary and perfect it is. 🙂

“Bug” is 4 yrs old and has lots of energy. He is my cuddle bug and needs extra hugs and quality time. He is the one who gets very concerned if I am upset about something. Even as an infant he was like that and I am guessing that he will always need those things.

“Peanut” is 2 and in to EVERYTHING! She is the exact opposite from her big brother, but she always has a smile on her face. She is our little sweet talker and is constantly the star of the show. She loves her baby dolls, “hair prettys” and shoes (the girl is already obsessed with them)

“Little Man” is brand new. We are still getting to know him, but he is content and sweet and perfect in every way.

As for me, have a very diverse set of skills and interests. (The non PC version is I have ADHD when it comes to the creative side of life, and rabbit trails are the bane of my existence!!!). The process looks something like this:
Idea –>;;; inspiration –>;;; obsessed –>;;; acquisition of materials –>;;; execution –>;;; boredom –>;;; new idea…
In other words, Pinterest is like a drug for me :-). I LOVE Pinterest. It is a constant stream of inspiration and the diversity of content is perfect for my personality! I am happiest when I am in the middle of the creative process, and I feel a huge sense of satisfaction once I complete it. I am very proud of the skills I have acquired over time and I savor the feeling of seeing something beautiful and knowing I could (and know how to) reproduce it!

A snapshot of our life:

We live in a nice home, not a high end home, but not a fixer upper either. There are some “remodel” type projects that we dream about doing, but it just fine the way it is too. We live in a nice quiet neighborhood and when we found this house it was like it just clicked. We live on a pretty tight budget so I am always looking for ways to decrease our expenses. We drive 5-6 yr old cars, and we believe it is very important to live within your means. With that said, much of what we have either came from Craigslist, was given to us by our parents, or we made it. I coupon, my husband takes his lunch to work with him, I buy second hand clothes for our kids and I try to meal plan around what is on sale.

With that said, I have an amazing life and I wouldn’t change it for anything!

  1. Thank you for visiting my blog site. My husband is also a “jack of all trade;” and if he doesn’t know how to do something, he will read a book to find out. He is also a computer expert (a Network/Systems Analyst). I was also a stay-at-home Mom and homeschooled my son until he went to college. So we have a few things in common. I will visit you again.
